Our Nathaniel, master of all he surveys. Everyday he gets a little chubbier, a little sweeter, and a little more charming. He can sit up all by himself now, and has even mastered the art of tipping over gracefully. He's a great roller--a little too great, actually, He's already nose dived off the couch and tumbled off the bed. Did I learn my lesson. YES. Not quite well enough yet though. Today i left him sitting on one side of the room and found him on the other side of the room pulling on cords. Oops. Bad mommy!! Nat is practicing for Thanksgiving by eating lots of sweet potatoes. Those and applesauce seem to be his favorites. Occasionally he gets prunes to get things moving. I've been making his food and freezing it in ice cube trays. I found some great recipes and advice here. He still has no teeth, though between the drool and gnawing that's been going on lately, it's only a matter of time. He is a boy of two moods: ecstatic and mad. Seldom do you find him in between, and if you do, wait 5 seconds. He laughs the most at his brother, who loves to make him, and gets maddest when he doesn't get his own way (go figure). We still take the baby prylosec twice a day--or else, and I still can't look cross eyed at a dairy product. Lately, I've been considering formula a little more seriously. He still won't take a bottle so that is a challenge in and of itself. I've also come across some rather terrifying information regarding soy and baby boys, so until I figure out who to believe (the mega million dollar soy industry telling me its great or the grass roots "soy-will-give-your-baby-prostate-cancer-when-he-grows-up" activists) we'll keep on fighting the dairy-free battle one resisted ice cream cone at a time.
