End of Summer Projects

We can now officially put two summer projects in the can. Yes. Now that summer is over, not that you can tell with the 94degree projected high today. Anyway, we (and by we I mean Paul) scooped out a bunch of grass and put in a playground. We also re-bark dusted the front and back. It looks great, and with our belated fall, will be enjoyed for a bit longer. Then along came pears. Courtesy of the Peters' pear tree, I gathered enough for 7 quarts of sliced pears, 17 pints of pear puree and two quarts of pear juice. I have discovered that like tattoos, canning is painful but addictive. I just feel so Proverbs 31 when it's all over--not the tattoo.

I love fresh pears. Nothing better! Hope Alysun still has some for me. I meant to bring a couple home last time...

The back yard play area looks great. I can't wait to do the same to ours. A couple years away, but still looking forward to it.

I know what you mean about the painful, but addicive. I think it's because my kids are addicted to eating! However, they do have to help with the "painful" part. (Something for you to look forward to. Kids helping can!)
